Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV), a member of the Pneumoviridae family , is a respiratory virus that can cause illnesses ranging from mild colds to severe lung infections like pneumonia and bronchiolitis. While less widely known than influenza or Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), HMPV is a leading cause of respiratory infections worldwide , particularly during the winter and spring. Why Is HMPV a Concern?
